This is the most famous of C S Lewis' many books for children about the fantasy land of Narnia, the place where time passes so slowly compared to the Earth that no-one notices you have left.
The book follows the adventures of four young children who walk through a cupboard in the house of an eccentric old professor, and are taken to Narnia. Here, the Wicked Witch is running riot over the residents of that faraway land, and also captures Aslan, the Lion that represents Good in the book.
This is an engaging and interesting book that will capture the imagination of many children. It has been turned into a TV series, and also has strong parallels to Christianity and has definite religious undertones.
This is an enjoyable book and definitely worth a read.
