The hologram in the cult series Red Dwarf Arnold Rimmer is played by Chris Barrie who is famous as a comedian for a range of roles including for instance in the Brittas Empire.
He has an unusual manner and is often the butt of jokes by other characters, and of course not being fully there as a hologram as it were he has some sort of inferiority complex about it.
