The US Open is the last tennis grand slam event of the year, taking place on American hard courts. It is also the noisiest of all the venues to play and for that reason some players struggle to block out the sounds of planes and the crowd chattering away loudly and walking around during play. Here are some quotes from the US Open tennis in 2005:
"I don't think he would be lying"
Roger Federer expressed surprise but didn't doubt the truth of what Agassi thought!
"He's a hell of a shotmaker, the best I've ever seen. He can pull the trigger from anywhere on the court."
Lleyton Hewitt on the abilities of Roger Federer
"Very weird and awkward, bizarre."
Serena Williams describes playing Venus in a grand slam tennis event
"I felt like I was going to burp, and then threw up. It was pretty funny"
British tennis player Andrew Murray on leaving his guts out on court
