Do you moonlight in another job? This interesting phrase has an origin that is quite sensible when you think about it!
Basically a lot of people who had longer working hours before they were reduced suddenly had more time on their hands, and therefore in order to fill some of that time they did an extra job.
Now that extra job came at night, when the moon was out, and naturally enough therefore it became known as moonlighting, to do a second job part time in the evening to get more cash.
And so it stuck being as descriptive as it is, and is still with us today... fascinating!
