Martin Crane is the facther of the family, that is the father of both Frasier and Niles.
He is a proud retired police officer who is a patriotic character and has much more traditional interests perhaps than his sons. Whilst they love fine wines, a good meal and so on, Marty has classic interests such as sports and often is seen to be going down Dukes to have a beer and watch the game that leaves both Frasier and Niles cold.
